Headed to Graduate School

Each spring, the English Department at the University of Maine-Farmington sponsors a workshop for English and Creative Writing majors who are thinking about applying to Graduate school the next year. Offering advice at workshop are faculty from the Humanities Division as well as several current UMF students (and a recent graduate or two) who have just went through the graduation school application process. Participating in the workshop this year were nearly a dozen UMF students who had successfully applied to been accepted by a graduate programs. The variety of graduate programs that our students are joining—in English and Creative Writing, Library and Information Sciences, Philosophy, and  Psychology—suggests that our majors have a number of options waiting for them when they graduate.
